The Lakers search for a head coach will continue after failing to reach an agreement with top choice Tyronn Lue. The deal, reportedly for three-years and $18 million dollars, would have run concurrently with Lebron James deal. Lue was handpicked by James to take over the Cleveland Cavaliers and the two won the first and only championship in franchise history in 2016. Snags in the deal were the length where 4-5 years is now the norm and Lue’s autonomy to hire his own staff. The deal was contingent upon Jason Kidd being on staff and the former Buck coach impressed the Lakeshow front office in his interview and history of developing young talent like he did at Milwaukee.
