The New York Yankee early season injury woes continue after second-year infield sensation Miguel Andujar was diagnosed with a small labrum tear in his shoulder. Andujar suffered the injury, diving back to third base in the Bombers season opening series with the Orioles. Andujar was placed on the 10-day disabled list for rest and physical therapy. He will then be evaluated and season ending surgery is a real possibility.
Andujar made his MLB debut in 2017 but shined in his breakout season last year when he had 27 home runs, 47 doubles, and 92 RBI’s for the Bombers while playing third base. Andujar is the next in a long line of currently injured Yankees that includes Luis Severino, Dellin Betances, Didi Gregorius, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Giancarlo Stanton among others.
