The Las Vegas Golden Knights were the big winners at Monday’s NHL trade deadline, acquiring center Mark Stone for a top defensive prospect Mark Brannstrom, next year’s second-round draft pick, and center Oscar Lindberg. Las Vegas immediately signed the 26-year-old Stone to an eight-year $76 million dollar extension. Stone was the crown jewel left at the deadline and is generally considered one of the top three center and top 15 players in the league. Playing with the last place Senators, Stone has a career high 28 goals and an NHL high 80 takeaways. Stone has reached Las Vegas, will participate in the VGK morning skate, and likely make his Golden Knight debut tonight against the Dallas Stars.
