The Los Angeles Dodgers pennant hopes took a hit on Friday when ace Clayton Kershaw was shut down with an as yet to be identified arm problem. Kershaw has not felt right in his throwing sessions since returning for spring training. The team was quick to point out that it is strictly an arm problem and not the back problems that have landed Kershaw on the disabled list the last three years. The current plan is to have Kershaw step away and regroup. Kershaw is 153-69 in 11 seasons with the Dodgers. He recently signed a three-year $93 million dollar extension to his current deal.
