The injury saga of Washington Wizard PG John Wall went from bad to worse on Monday after he ruptured his achilles tendon in a home fall. Wall was already set to miss this the rest of this year after having a procedure on his heel. He will now miss all of next year as well as the recovery period for the surgery he has scheduled for next week in generally 12-15 months. Wall played just 41 games last year after injuring his knee.
Wall was the No.1 overall draft pick in the league out of Kentucky in 2010.He has a super max contract that has $162 million left through the end of 2023. Wall is set to make $38.2 million next year, $41.2 million in 2020-21, $44.3 million in 2021-22, and $47.3 million in 2022-23. It is a big hit to the Wizards who are set to miss the playoffs this year and are saddled with terrible contracts to Bradley Beal and Otto Porter.
