The No.1 Duke Blue Devils lost a lot more than a game when they fell to Syracuse 95-91 in overtime Monday night. They also lost PG Tre Jones who separated the AC joint in his shoulder and will miss an indefinite period of time. Jones collided with a Syracuse player at around the six minute mark, left the court holding his shoulder, and never returned.
Jones is a huge part of this heralded freshman class and makes the offense go. Jones averages just 8.1 ppg, but leads the runs the offense and dishes out 5.7 assists-per-game. Jones keeps the ball moving and controls the offensive flow. He’s unquestionably the Blue Devils best defensive player averaging better than two steals a game and had four steals in his six minutes Monday as Duke opened the game on a 12-0 run.
