2018 has not been a banner year for the UFC and just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, the organization was forced to move it’s showcase end-of-the-year even from Las Vegas to Los Angeles after headliner John Jones tested positive for trace amounts of Turinabol, a PED. Jones is a multiple time offender and while the testing agency ASADA did not technically rule the test a violation, there was not enough time to arrange a hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to save the Saturday, December 29th show.
The card will be moved in its entirety including all bouts and all fighters from the T-Mobil Arena in Las Vegas to the Forum in Inglewood, California. The decision to accommodate Jones rather than replace him has been an unpopular decision throughout the organization, especially the fighters who will now also be saddled with absorbatent California state taxes.
