After the all the favorites won Saturday in championship week action, there was not much suspense when the College Football Playoff committee came back with their Final Four. Georgia was eliminated after losing a close game to Alabama in the SEC championship game eliminator allowing last week’s No.5 seed Oklahoma move into the playoffs. The Sooners win the Big 12 Saturday avenging their only regular season loss with a 39-27 victory over Texas in winning the Big 12 championship. The No.6 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes beat 8-5 Northwestern to win the Big Ten but could not improve it’s position. Georgia fell to No.5 with two losses.
The College Football Playoff looks like this. The No.1 seed Alabama will take on No.4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl in Miami, No.2 Clemson takes on No.3 seed Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl with both games on December 29th. Caesar’s in Las Vegas opened Alabama as a 14-point favorite with the total set at 79. Clemson opened as an 11-point favorite over the Fighting Irish with the opening total 55.
