The University of North Carolina has announced the hiring of Mack Brown to a second stint as football coach of the Tar Heels. North Carolina fired Larry Fedora on Sunday after six years. Fedora was 45-43 overall but just 5-18 the last two years after taking the Tar Heels to the ACC Championship game in 2016. The 67-year-old Brown coached the Tar Heels for 10 years before taking the Texas job in 1997. He won a National Championship with the Longhorns in 2005. Brown was 69-46-1 in his ten years at Chapel Hill leading the Heels to six bowl games in his final six years. In his final two years at UNC, Brown went 10-2 and 11-1.
