The No.3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish will look to remain undefeated as they host Florida State on Saturday without starting quarterback Ian Book who suffered a rib injury last week vs. Northwestern. It is not known when Book, the leading percentage passer in the nation, was hurt but it might have been after a big first quarter hit that saw Book slow to get up. Book finished with 343 yards passing and three touchdowns, two passing and one rushing the football in the Irish 31-21 win.
Book will be replaced by former starter Brandon Wimbush who started last year and for three games this year before being replaced. Under Book, the Irish have averaged 38.8 points-per-game as opposed to just 23.3 ppg. under Wimbush. The Vegas line has dropped considerably after the announcement of the change with the Irish dropping from 24 point favorites to 16/16.5/17 depending on where you shop.
